Director, Head of Market Data and Information Management

Location: London.

About the Role

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Lead market data strategy to drive cross‑functional leverage and consolidation.
  • Lead Data Privacy and Records Management programs to drive strong governance and oversight.
  • Drive key strategic transformation efforts to streamline and improve information‑management practices.
  • Provide leadership over the entire Market Data vendor portfolio across Investments & Wealth with a focus on top vendors (e.g., Bloomberg, FactSet).
  • Proactively and strategically manage the commercials, budgeting and spend related to the market‑data vendors in partnership with Finance.
  • Drive efforts to streamline market‑data management, including legal‑entity restructuring, CSM transition, and platform improvements to rationalize contracts and improve sourcing and management. Collaborate with internal teams to ensure full optimization of existing tools.
  • Manage market‑data demand by working with key stakeholders to document the pipeline, define priorities and streamline the scope of market‑data needs. Articulate the I&W requirements for the vendor and the general importance of the vendor to the rest of I&W.
  • Represent Investments & Wealth on all enterprise‑wide discussions regarding market‑data vendors. Collaborate with the ESO to ensure I&W secures the best rates and level of service from the vendors.
  • Consolidate and lead Data Privacy and Records Management oversight programs to improve governance.
  • Collaborate with ESO, Data Governance and other internal teams to ensure GIW is leveraging the best tools and strategies available across the firm.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in market data, vendor management, expense management, or a closely related business area.
  • 8-10 years of experience in roles including strategy, leading global programs, and executing a portfolio of projects.
  • Asset Management experience required.
  • Undergraduate degree required.
  • Strong MS Office and basic AI skills required.
  • Demonstrated experience of successfully managing market‑data demand across business units and working with market‑data suppliers.
  • Experience establishing a vendor‑management program (e.g., developing governance and reporting structure, analysis of market‑data spend and usage).
  • Provide leadership and oversight to all aspects of the Global Market Data Operating Model including onboarding, reporting standards, ad‑hoc/custom queries, monitoring/metrics/management reporting, stakeholder engagement, audit requests, service‑delivery partnerships, and outsourcing oversight.
  • Strong leadership providing clear direction, motivation and organization to a global team (direct and matrixed) to deliver on key strategic objectives, achieve key results and support the business in achieving key goals.
  • Business acumen – ability to pre‑empt questions, sense‑check facts and display general business knowledge across all business lines.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively partner with all levels of management, including support functions, to execute strategic objectives.
  • Excellent quantitative, analytical and problem‑solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to create structured, detailed and compelling analyses for various audiences.
  • Organizational and political agility; strong negotiation skills.
