Job description
Overview

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, PCH (Pharma Consumer Health), this appointment is a key strategic partner role to the General Manager, Zydis®, in setting and delivering the financial objectives of one of Catalent's largest and most profitable sites. Manufacturing of the best-in‑class Zydis® fast dissolve orally disintegrating tablet is performed at the Swindon site. The position frequently communicates with Segment Leadership regarding site operational and financial matters. Responsibilities include development of financial plans and policies, accounting practices and procedures, and interacting with stakeholders, both internal and external. The individual will provide leadership to the Finance function with overall responsibility for management and development of the department. The operating environment is fast paced and highly pressured.

Responsibilities
  • Create, drive and implement the site five‑year strategic plan, setting financial milestones. Set and deliver the annual budget. Be a business partner to the GM and key executive stakeholders. Tell the Swindon story through the financials.
  • Develop and communicate complex financial insights that are easy for non‑finance personnel to grasp.
  • Lead the UK sites in external relationships and compliance obligations.
  • Lead the monthly forecasting process, working with the site leadership team and presenting to VP and SVP level.
  • Compare performance with operating budgets and prior year. Provide reports and interpret the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the preparation of financial statements and operating data.
  • Lead the Swindon team to deliver the internal three‑day accounting close reporting deadline – ensuring adherence to the financial control framework including first‑class supporting documentation.
  • Focus on working capital and cash conversion cycle to maximize free cash. Track and realize the cost improvement targets through CI and Procurement initiatives.
  • Lead the UK sites with the following relationships: HMRC, Banking, Audit & statutory accounts, tax (direct and indirect).
  • Officer roles including: Statutory director, Company secretary, Senior Accounting Officer (HMRC).
  • Assure protection for the assets of the business through internal control, internal auditing, and SOX controls maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • BA/BSc (or equivalent) in accounting or business & ACA / CIMA / ACCA qualification.
  • The candidate should have a minimum of ten years of progressive finance experience, which includes five years of finance leadership experience in a medium‑ to large‑sized organisation. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment is required, preferably for a pharmaceutical manufacturer.
  • The ideal candidate will possess expert knowledge in GAAP concepts and a strong consultative approach, while maintaining a focus on results.
  • Experience with Lean implementation and continuous improvement concepts.
  • US GAAP revenue reporting required & knowledge of JDE ERP and OneStream a significant advantage.
  • Strong operations background with ability to establish precise pricing/costing controls.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal and external customers and suppliers.
