Job summary

Capgemini Invent is seeking a seasoned Director to lead the Energy Transition & Utilities practice in the UK, driving advisory and transformation services for major clients across electricity, gas networks, water and nuclear sectors. You will own senior client relationships, shape engagements, and orchestrate teams across Capgemini to deliver value with a client-centric mindset.

Based in London, Manchester or Glasgow with hybrid/ flexible working and occasional travel as required, you will help

Your Role

As part of the huge growth in demand in our Energy Transition & Utilities practice, we are seeking an experienced senior leader to join ourhighly talentedteam, working on the pursuit and delivery of major advisory,consultingand transformation servicesacross our sector. Our clients withinEnergy Transition & Utilitiesincludethose within the sub-sectors of Energy Networks, Energy Retail,Energy Central Markets, Water and Nuclear. Driven bymajorinvestmentin the sectorand the unique position of our Capgemini Invent business, we are seeing a significant increase in demand for our services and teams.Our vast utilities experience, strong strategic and businesstransformationskillset, a deep understanding ofdigital, data and AIand a highly collaborative approach has allowed us to build a successfultrack recordof delivering leading edge consulting services and solutions for our clients. This role is designed to further expand and strengthen our position in this market. As a Director within the Energy Transition & Utilities practice, you’ll help set the direction, drive forward the business, own senior client relationships, take a leading role in orchestration across our business, model our values and behaviours and coach and develop junior members of the team.

Skills

You will combine deep sector expertise with strong consulting skills, leading client engagements and supporting the expansion of our client base across electricity and gas transmission and distribution networks. Specifically, you will deliver activities that form part of the following categories:

• Business Development – Leading/contributing to proposals, RFPs, bids, proposition development, client pitch contribution, client hosting at events.
• Project Delivery – Leading engagements with our clients and delivering them with quality, on time and on budget.
• Internal contribution – Campaign development, internal think-tanks, whitepapers, practice development (operations, recruitment, team events & activities), offering development.
• Learning & development – Training to support your career development and the skills demand within the company, certifications etc.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

• Shape and win new opportunities, defining and overseeing the engagements, resourcing, delivery approach and competitive commercial model to successfully deliver the change that solves our clients’ most pressing challenges.
• Define and deliver digital-enabled business transformation engagements to implement our clients’ strategic initiatives.
• Lead and manage teams to achieve high quality delivery focused on client value
• Contribute to our propositions, in conjunction with our global network, to enable our success in the market.
• Contribute to growing and leading our Energy Transition & Utilities business and our team.
• Model the values of Capgemini across internal and client relationships.
• Leverage the power of our global Capgemini organisation – building relationships to drive high quality delivery and client success.
• Build strong, long-lasting client relationships as a trusted advisor at all levels.

Your Profile

We’d love to meet someone with:

• Significant experience gained within Consulting within the Energy & Utilities sector, including with one or many of electricity and gas transmission and distribution businesses, energy retailers, central market bodies, water companies and nuclear businesses.
• Exceptional consulting skills, meaning experience of working in a major Consulting firm, and/or in industry but with a Consulting background.
• Substantial business development experience, with the ability to leverage your personal network and the organisation’s broader pre-existing relationships, to generate at least £4m pa of consulting revenues and enable larger revenues across our business.
• Proven ability to be successful in a matrixed organisation, and to enlist support and commitment from peers in selling and delivering consulting solutions.
• Experience of proposition building and delivery, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
• The ability to collaboratively create winning solutions - taking a client issue, and working with the client, account team and across Capgemini to create a solution that the client can approve – you’ll have business development targets of ~£2m per annum.

You Will Bring Subject Matter Experience, Expertise And Intellectual Capital Across a Broad Range Of Advisory, Consulting And Transformation Services In The Sector, Which May Include All Or Some Of

• Corporate strategy, business planning and regulatory advisory services.
• Business and IT operating model, restructuring and performance improvement.
• Large scale business transformation and programme delivery, across areas including system operation, asset management, capital infrastructure, operations, customer and workforce.
• Design and deployment of digital transformation and AI solutions and services.
• Emerging business and digital trends in energy networks, such as intelligent system operations, IoT, advanced analytics. mobile applications, automation, energy management, digital twin and BIM.
