Director, Business Development, Fidelity Digital Assets℠

The Role

Fidelity Digital Assets℠ is seeking a Director of Business Development to achieve sales goals in onboarding institutional clients to our Enterprise‑grade custody and execution services offerings. The position will report into the Head of Business Development, Fidelity Digital Assets℠ Europe. A successful candidate will contribute to the strategic vision and direction of the organization, including:

  • Shaping go-to-market strategies and participating in the marketplace to develop and maintain channels for sales.
  • Developing and executing strategies to monetise internal and external distribution channels.
  • Identifying potential opportunities and setting up deal execution, including prioritisation of prospective clients, pipeline development, financial assessment, transaction structuring, and implementation.
  • Partnering with product and strategy teams to ideate new product functionality that will continue to keep our business model competitive within the enterprise space.
  • Representing the voice of the market and the customer with peers and partners in product, marketing, legal, risk, compliance, relationship management, implementation, operations, and client service.
  • Building close, appropriate relationships across the digital assets and traditional asset management ecosystems, representing Fidelity’s interests and objectives.
  • Understanding the disruptive value delivered by digital assets and helping develop thought leadership on what that means for Fidelity’s businesses.
  • Monitoring, researching, and evaluating market trends and signals, including competitor business models, industry news and regulatory developments.
  • Communicating effectively to audiences with varying levels of seniority and understanding of finance, cryptoassets and distributed ledger technologies.
  • Contributing to a climate that values and rewards contributions, drive, initiative, and achievement of results.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • Proven professional success selling to large institutional asset allocators (e.g., hedge funds, asset managers, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds).
  • Thorough understanding of the asset management market in the EU and strong preference for the ability to speak fluently about business topics in German and/or French.
  • Ability to quickly size up a market opportunity, strategise business partnerships, understand the relevance of distribution channels, and negotiate deals.
  • Experience as a financial services executive over 10+ years, preferably in the UK and EU regions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology, market, and ecosystem as it relates to cryptocurrencies, blockchain, tokenised securities, electronic execution, institutional custody, and asset‑management spaces.
  • Experience managing a client pipeline and driving results in a thoughtful and collaborative way.
  • Exceptionally strong interpersonal skills in managing internal and external relationships in a proactive, energetic and customer‑obsessed way.
  • Comfort with the sales toolkit, including experience with CRM systems and development of sales materials.
