Charles River's Data and Analytics group, spread across the globe, are currently recruiting for a hands on and very technical Director of Analytical Engineering , to join us and manage a small team of data colleagues to deliver global projects.

With a proven and successful people manager background you will be working within a matrix management environment and across functions, where collaboration is key! You will have strong business acumen, a broad business awareness and product development and roll out knowledge. Very importantly we want you to have built platforms from scratch and end to end!

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead and mentor a team of Data Analysts and Analytics Engineers and provide actionable analytical solutions for our business partners.
  • Manage a team in a global capacity mainly USA in multiple time zones mainly, but not exclusively EST.
  • Proven and recent experience of implementing solutions from requirements gathering and process design to functional production deployment in a cloud environment.
  • Act as Technical Product owner within assigned Agile teams.
  • Work with both the Business and IT Leadership team in developing the overall Strategy and Roadmap for the Data and Analytics Organisation.
  • Champion the use of data, technology & newer tools to optimise solutions and continuous process improvements.
  • Experience working in a Microsoft Premium and Fabric Capacity.
  • Continuously work on building strong Business relationships with the key Business Product Owners.
  • Must have strong business acumen and have the skillsets to analyse and interpret highly complex business challenges. related to the use of Global Data.
  • Present findings and recommendations for action to partners and leaders within the company.
  • Define and document UX data visualisation standards.
  • Develop / acquire the right talent, motivate and maintain a high performing team.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills And Requirements
  • B.Sc. / M.Sc. degree in computer science, math's, or related fields; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strong management experience in a technology organisation, with a proven track record of building and leading high‑performing teams.
  • Excellent experience with SSAS design and development with expert DAX skills.
  • Hands‑on data visualisation and report development.
  • Proven experience using Power BI and experience managing Microsoft Premium and Fabric Capacity solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge and use in Azure cloud Environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure data stack and integration architectures.
  • Possesses strong business acumen, with ability to assist in development of business requirements definitions.
  • Highly skilled in various Agile methodologies.
  • Able to work quickly and under tight delivery deadlines with focus on details.
  • Ability to manage multiple efforts concurrently.
Highly Regarded Skills
  • Cloud Experience (Azure).
  • Proficiency in Data Warehouse & BI Analytics.
  • Experience with data science including Python.
