Responsibilities
  • Advising on a wide variety of student legal matters, including discrimination, negligence, intellectual property rights, harassment and rules of natural justice.
  • Acting as a key legal point of contact within the University and developing a strong network of internal and external contacts at the highest level.
  • Providing legal advice on a variety of issues to the University, both upon request and by proactively disseminating advice to contacts in academic, administrative and service departments.
  • Advising in‑house clients on any legal issues, including student services and admissions departments.
  • Providing specialist legal advice on consumer protection law matters as they affect the University and its students.
  • Advising on complex and sensitive matters at a senior level.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience within higher education and a current practising certificate.

  • Experience within student‑related law.
  • Current practising certificate.
  • Ability to cultivate relationships and communicate the importance of legal compliance.
