Job summary

Kentdale Referrals in the Lake District invites a board-certified Small Animal Surgeon to join our growing surgical team. You will work with experienced Diplomates across soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery, handling a varied referral caseload and shaping the future of our surgical service.

Based at our new hospital near Carnforth, the role offers multidisciplinary collaboration, ongoing professional development, and opportunities to support referring practices with clinical advice and CPD.

Qualifications

• Board-certified Small Animal Surgeon or in an approved residency preparing for board exams.
• Experience in soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with colleagues and referring vets.

Responsibilities

• Manage a varied caseload of soft tissue and orthopaedic referral cases.
• Provide high-quality care for surgical inpatients.
• Support referring veterinary surgeons with clinical advice and after-hours support.
• Collaborate with the hospital team to manage routine, urgent and emergency referrals.
• Contribute to clinical discussions, case reviews and development of the surgical service.
• Provide external CPD and lunch-and-learn sessions for referring practices.
