Job summary

Natural History Museum seeks a Digitisation Team Unit Lead to oversee digitisation operations and support the development of a high-performing team across botanical specimens. The post combines technical digitisation expertise with people management and will work with internal NHM teams and external partners to deliver high-quality workflows.

This fixed-term role (to 31 March 2028) is based in NHM's Digital, Data and Informatics Department, with a hybrid working model requiring regular on-site

Qualifications

• Experience leading digitisation projects and workflows across collections.
• Ability to coordinate between internal teams and external partners.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee digitisation operations for the Botanical section and Digitisers.
• Provide sectional technical and people leadership to ensure high standards.
• Collaborate with NHM teams and DiSSCo UK partners to improve workflows and outcomes.
• Drive innovation and contribute to conservation, research and public engagement.
