Job summary

The University of Southampton, a research-intensive Russell Group member, is seeking an Associate Director, Digital User Experience to lead the digital transformation of our web estate and set the long-term vision for the university's digital experience.

You will manage a multidisciplinary team spanning product management, delivery, UX design, user research, content, analytics and SEO, driving a product-led, agile approach with data-driven decision making and a strong focus on accessibility and

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading multidisciplinary digital, product, experience or transformation teams.
• Track record delivering large-scale change programmes and embedding new ways of working.
• Experience with agile delivery methodologies and product-led operating models.
• Ability to develop a compelling strategic vision and translate it into practical delivery plans.
• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills with senior leaders.
• Strong commitment to user-centred design, accessibility and evidence-based decision making.
• Ability to inspire, develop and lead high-performing teams through change.

Responsibilities

• Set the long-term vision and strategy for the University's digital experience across the web estate.
• Lead a multidisciplinary team spanning product management, delivery, UX design, user research, content, analytics and SEO.
• Champion a product-led, agile approach to digital delivery and collaborate with Communications, iSolutions and the wider University.
• Establish governance and prioritisation frameworks and ensure decisions are informed by data and user insight.
• Create conditions for teams to perform at their best and foster a culture of inclusion and accessibility.
