Digital Senior IT Trainer (specialty AI)

The closing date is 26 December 2025

We have embarked on one of the biggest transformation programmes our Trust has ever seen. Our Electronic Health Record (EHR) will enhance the work of nearly everyone in the Trust, and also the experience of anyone who accesses our services. Our Digital Senior IT Trainers will lead the development of the Alex Health Training for the Trust, focussing on the clinical workflows, through the identification, development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of appropriate education, training and development interventions. This will include the provision of a reliable and cost‑effective service that meets the needs of users and the Trust. These roles are critical in supporting the delivery of the Trust’s digital strategy and the strategic priorities in PAHT2030.

Main duties of the job

This is an exciting time for the Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust. We are on a digital transformation journey leading us to our brand new hospital. We believe that our people are our greatest asset. That’s why we invest in continuous learning, career development, and personal growth. From nurses to administrators, everyone has a role to play in our success story.

About us

The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust (PAHT) is proud to care for the communities of West Essex, delivering safe, compassionate, and high‑quality services. We are part of the Neighbourhood Wave; a national programme that’s changing how care is delivered by focusing on prevention, early support, and more joined‑up services across health, social care, and the voluntary sector. This means we’re working more closely with local partners to bring care closer to home and support people to live healthier, more independent lives. We’re a supportive and inclusive organisation that values its people. We offer development opportunities, flexible working, and a strong focus on wellbeing. As a Disability Confident and equal opportunities employer, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds and experiences. Join us and help shape the future of care in West Essex.

Job responsibilities

The role is critical in supporting the delivery of the Trust’s digital strategy and the strategic priorities in PAHT2030. Our new EHR is also critical to deliver our digital priorities in readiness for our new hospital. The role supports delivery of appropriate role‑based training to our people at PAHT.

This position will specialise in advancing artificial intelligence capabilities in educational initiatives for developments within the trust.

The Digital Senior IT Trainer will report to the Digital IT Training Manager, with whom they will agree their work plan and expected outcomes.

You’ll be working across the organisational boundaries, influencing decisions where appropriate, negotiating areas of improvement, seeking agreement and co‑operation; but always managing user expectations to ensure that they are aligned to the available resources.
