Job summary

WSP is looking for a Digital Engineer to join the Roads team based in London, Cambridge, Basingstoke, Guildford, or Southampton. Candidates at all career stages are welcomed to apply.

The role focuses on delivering digital solutions for highway and infrastructure projects, applying automation, data‑driven design, and computational tools such as Python, Dynamo, and Azure to improve delivery, quality, and carbon performance.

Qualifications

• Understanding of highway engineering principles preferred.
• Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads & Bridges and related guidance.
• Experience handling data with MS Excel or data-based systems.
• Good communication with clients, developers, consultants, elected representatives and the public.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Deliver digital solutions for highway and infrastructure projects.
• Work within multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative highway solutions.
• Apply digital automation, data-driven design, and computational tools (e.g., Python, Dynamo) to improve delivery.
• Deliver measurable improvements in design efficiency, coordination, and quality.
• Reduce repetitive manual effort through scripting and data pipelines.
• Develop and maintain reusable digital tools, scripts, templates, and documentation.
