Job description

Barts Health NHS Trust is embarking on an exciting digital transformation journey within our maternity services -- and we are looking for a passionate and forward-thinking Digital Midwife to join our team.

This role will be central to the successful implementation and launch of the BadgerNet Maternity Information System, supporting safer, smarter, and more integrated care for women, birthing people, babies, and families across our maternity pathway.

As a Digital Midwife, you will act as a bridge between clinical and digital teams — ensuring that the new system reflects the needs of our service users and staff, and that its adoption delivers real benefits in care quality, safety, and experience.

The Digital Project Midwife (BadgerNet Maternity System) is a member of the multi professional maternity care team whose aim is to support the full implementation of the maternity BadgerNet IT system across all parts of the maternity service within a defined timescale.

  • To support the development and implementation of BadgerNet in line with the objectives of the Barts Health NHS Trust, the PID for the implementation for BadgerNet and the Barts Health Clinical and Digital strategies. This is to ensure that the deliverables meet the clinical and organisational needs and comply with the wider digital agenda.
  • To support the change management process, and in particular the training of maternity staff to ensure that the benefits are realised from the effective implementation of BadgerNet and that it complies with the wider digital agenda.
  • To meet the project's objectives and ensure quality control.
  • To Balance the needs of Barts maternity with the requests from other departments or ICB with the implementation of BadgerNet.
  • To influence and motivate people to change, especially those in senior and established positions. including persuading people to change their working practice when they will not gain any direct benefit in the immediate future but this change could be vital for the realisation of the "big picture".

This is an ideal opportunity for a midwife who wants to make a real difference by shaping the future of digital maternity care at one of the largest NHS trusts in the country.

At Barts Health, we are committed to being an outstanding place to work, learn, and grow. You'll be part of a supportive, innovative, and multidisciplinary team driving forward digital transformation for safer, more connected maternity services.
