About the role

Welcome to Opticians Product Team and the opportunity to join the biggest ongoing transformational project in Boots Opticians, the new Opticians Practice Management System. We are a small team but one that understands the importance of getting this right for our colleagues and our customers to bring a simple, more efficient way of working in our stores. Within the Product Team, the Opticians Product Manager will play a key role in the delivery of the Opticians Practice Management System. Their role is putting the customer and colleagues at the heart of what we do with a focus on value delivery, shaping and delivering the Opticians vision, roadmap and subsequent development across the practice management system.

Key responsibilities

• Understand and influence the Practice Management System Roadmap
• Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders to understand new initiatives
• Analyse and impact assess any new features focusing in on value delivery
• Collaborate cross-functionally with key stakeholders including Boots UK IT on releases
• Support the Test Lead with testing scope and understanding new functionality
• Support with resolution of identified defects
• Support the Comms Lead with communications and guidance
• Collate feedback to ensure the evolution of the product
• Be an advocate for product mentality

Preferred qualifications

• Excellent communicator able to adjust styles and methods of communication to different audiences.
• Team player able to quickly build effective working relationships across different functions.
• Previous experience of working within the optical market.
• Previous experience of working in a Boots Opticians store.
• Strategic thinker who can analyse market trends and identify innovations that meet customers need.
• Data driven attitude to track and interpret KPI's and metrics to enhance the product.
• Strategic data analysis skills to inform and shape strategic decision making.
• Understands UX to ensure the product meets the customer need and provides a positive experience
• Previous Product Manager or Owner experience.
• Familiar with agile delivery principles.
