DWP. Digital with Purpose.

DWP is the UK's largest government department. We help people into work, and make payments worth over £195bn a year to support some of the most vulnerable people in our society.

We are looking for a Digital Performance Analyst to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital. We're driving a once-in-a-generation transformation of government services.

We're using fresh ideas and leading-edge technologies to build and maintain innovative, scalable and user-centric digital solutions that will be used by nearly every person in the UK, at key moments in their lives.

The scale of what we do is extraordinary, and our purpose is unique. We'd love you to join us.

Delivery. Work. Projects.

As a Digital Performance Analyst in DWP Digital's Health Data and Analytics Team, you'll help shape services that support some of the most vulnerable people in society.

You'll work across the Health Transformation Programme, using data to generate insights that influence service design, delivery and decision-making. Your analysis will help identify and assess the impact of initiatives that improve the lives of citizens who rely on our support.

You'll collaborate with User Researchers, Business Analysts and Data Scientists to build a holistic understanding of our systems, users and business needs. You'll develop performance measures, carry out analysis, and provide actionable insights that help teams design with users in mind.

This is a great opportunity to join a growing digital performance analyst community, where your work will support evidence-based decisions and help build a culture of user-centred measurement.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
  • Performance Analysis & Measurement - You can develop and work with performance frameworks, KPIs, goals, and user needs to deliver meaningful analysis that drives improvement.
  • Collaboration with Digital Teams - You work closely with digital teams building citizen-facing services, helping them measure impact and meet the Government's Digital by Default Service Standard.
  • Dashboard Creation - You can build dashboards for stakeholders using Looker Studio and Power BI, making complex data easy to understand and act on.
  • SQL & Python for Analysis - You regularly use SQL and Python to write custom code, join datasets, and feed dashboards with clean, actionable data.
  • Google Analytics & BigQuery - You can use Google Analytics and BigQuery to deliver insights back to feature teams, helping them understand user behaviour and improve services.

You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, Sheffield or Birmingham, whichever you prefer.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work and collaborate flexibly. We work a hybrid model - 60% in the office and 40% home working.

We offer competitive pay of up to £50,296.

You'll also get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over 28.9%, and a generous leave package starting at 226 days.

You can also take up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time.

We have a broad benefits package built around your work-life balance which includes:

  • An award-winning environment and culture: Employer of the Year 2023 (Women In IT Awards), Founders Award for Outstanding Digital Leadership 2023 (Digital 100)
