CAD/BIM Manager (UK – Temp Cover)

Overview

Binnies is seeking a CAD/BIM Manager to manage, develop and resourcing a high‑performing UK CAD function. The role requires a "hands‑on" lead capacity, driving continuity and efficiency through the 3‑D BAU approach, and positioning the candidate as an expert in leading‑edge BIM processes and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the existing UK CAD function and project activities/resources.
  • Maintain working relationships with CAD resources across Binnies regions (India, Australia, Singapore, HK).
  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Engineering on relevant initiatives.
  • Lead and develop the ongoing 3‑D BAU approach within Binnies.
  • Manage day‑to‑day 3‑D modelling activities supporting the Binnies BIM strategy and implementation plan.
  • Review and modify BIM modelling standards and procedures to ensure consistency across the UK region and with external clients and the supply chain.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Digital Engineering on the development and use of the Binnies Digital Object Library.
  • Lead training in 3‑D modelling for project design and construction teams, covering:
    • 3‑D modelling principles and processes
    • 3‑D modelling procedures and techniques
    • 3‑D modelling tools & templates
    • Revit / Civil3D / NavisWorks training
  • Provide ad‑hoc support to project teams as required.
  • Participate in the future development of 3‑D modelling within Binnies.
  • Ensure BIM standards, methods and disciplines are followed and aligned to QA processes and procedures.
  • Apply advanced, innovative technical solutions and processes.
  • Ensure all UK CAD/BIM team members receive training and development support.
  • Adopt and promote the Binnies BIM process, including the use of ProjectWise CDE fully configured to BS EN ISO 19650 processes and principles.
  • Work and deliver in line with BS EN ISO 19650 processes and principles.
Essential Requirements
  • Strong 3‑D modelling skills, qualifications and experience.
  • Proven people‑management skills.
  • Coaching, training and development abilities.
  • High interest in business process improvement for 3‑D modelling activities and methodologies.
  • Broad experience with common engineering software and IT platforms.
  • Exceptional team motivation skills.
  • Understanding of 3‑D modelling standards and QA processes.
  • Team player with effective communication skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in teaching, coaching or training.
  • Experience with ProjectWise.
  • Evidence of formal BIM training/education.
Additional Requirements
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
