You can embrace your curiosity in a culture that celebrates new ideas and diverse perspectives. You can experience a world of opportunity and the chance to shape a career as unique as you.

The WSP Roads Digital Engineering team brings together people with a range of engineering and digital backgrounds, including Digital Engineers, Information Managers, BIM and model coordination specialists, data and GIS specialists, and people working in automation and computational engineering. Together, we use technology, information and data to solve real project delivery problems and develop digital approaches that can be reused and improved across our projects.

A little more about your role…

We currently have exciting opportunities for Digital Engineers to join our Roads Digital Engineering team. Our team combines engineering knowledge with digital technologies, information and data to help our projects work more effectively, improve the quality and consistency of project delivery and develop better ways of working.

You will work alongside engineers, designers, project managers and other specialists across multidisciplinary infrastructure projects. Depending on your experience and areas of expertise, your role could include:

  • Support the mobilisation and delivery of Digital Engineering and Information Management across projects.
  • Set up, configure and support Common Data Environments and digital collaboration platforms, including ProjectWise, Autodesk platforms and SharePoint.
  • Develop and improve digital workflows supporting the creation, management, review, coordination, approval and delivery of project information.
  • Support multidisciplinary design coordination through model federation, design review, clash detection and issue management.
  • Support the implementation and continual improvement of engineering applications, CAD/BIM environments, standards and digital assurance processes.
  • Apply automation and computational engineering techniques to improve engineering processes, reduce repetitive manual tasks and increase the quality and reliability of project information.
  • Develop digital tools, applications, scripts, dashboards and integrated workflows using technologies such as Power Platform, FME, Python, C#, Dynamo and Grasshopper.
  • Structure, analyse and visualise project and engineering data to support project delivery and better decision-making.
  • Support GIS, location intelligence and asset information workflows and improve the integration of information between engineering systems.
  • Work with project teams to understand delivery challenges and identify where technology, data or automation can provide a practical solution.
  • Develop reusable digital tools, templates, workflows and approaches that can be applied across projects.
  • Support the development and implementation of Digital Delivery strategies, plans, standards, procedures and guidance.
  • Provide technical guidance, training and support to project teams using digital systems, tools and processes.
  • Contribute to knowledge sharing, innovation and continuous improvement across our Digital Engineering community.
  • At more senior levels, lead areas of digital project delivery, mentor colleagues, support project mobilisation and work directly with project and client teams to define and implement appropriate digital approaches.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…
  • Experience in one or more areas of Digital Engineering, such as digital project delivery, BIM and model coordination, Information Management, CDE management, automation, computational engineering, GIS or data.
  • An understanding of engineering and infrastructure project delivery, and how digital technologies, information and data can be used to improve delivery.
  • Experience using and supporting digital systems, tools or workflows within a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • An ability to understand project or engineering challenges and develop practical digital solutions that improve efficiency, quality, coordination or information reliability.
  • Experience with relevant digital platforms and technologies. These may include ProjectWise, iTwin, Autodesk platforms, SharePoint, Power Platform, FME, ArcGIS, Python, C#, Dynamo or Grasshopper. You do not need experience with all of these.
  • Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with engineers, designers, project managers and other project stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement, problem solving and learning new technologies and ways of working.
  • For more experienced roles, the ability to take ownership of digital delivery activities, provide technical guidance and support the development of other team members.
