Job summary

HDR is seeking a Digital Design Specialist (Civil) to support BIM workflows across the UK, with primary work in Glasgow and opportunities in London and Manchester. You will contribute to discipline models and digital delivery for civil/structural projects.

The role requires a technical degree or at least three years of related experience, proficiency in 3D design software (Revit) and document management, strong communication, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Work under supervision of Architect/Engineer on a specific discipline.
• Assist in developing the discipline model with input from Digital Design staff.
• Help create discipline model, systems, content, and digital delivery output for that discipline.
• Model BIM elements using current 3D software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts and diagrams using Revit.
• Maintain the discipline model: project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views and sheets.
• Produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.

Responsibilities

• Work for a specific discipline under the direct supervision of an Architect/Engineer or other technical professional.
• Assist in the development of the discipline model with direct input from Digital Design, Architectural or Engineering staff.
• Responsible for assisting with creation of the discipline model, systems, content, and overall digital delivery output for that discipline.
• Accurately model the BIM elements in the correct constraints of the modeling environment using current 3D software.
• Prepare detailed drawings, layouts and diagrams of the design using Revit.
• Maintain the discipline model including project information, coordinates, scales, orientations, scope boundaries, match-lines, views and sheets.
• Produce discipline-specific documentation with accurate annotations on all modeling output.

Required Qualifications

• Technical degree or a minimum of 3 years related industry experience.
• Technically qualified with 3D design software and document management infrastructure.
• Competency in Microsoft Office products and communication tools.
• Experience with 3D coordination tools.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits.
• Intermediate understanding of engineering or architectural concepts.
