Job summary

Siemens is offering a Level 6 Machine Learning Engineer apprenticeship with a 24-month duration and virtual day release. You’ll train across Digitalisation and Innovation, collaborating with digital technology teams while delivering an Apprentice Excellence Project.

The programme includes technical training, mentoring, and a path to a permanent role on successful completion. QA is the designated provider for the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Two A-levels or equivalent with a B in Maths and at least 5 GCSEs (incl. Maths/English).
• Strong analytical thinking with a willingness to self-learn and research.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership while collaborating with others.

Embark on your journey with us, combining hands-on experience with structured development. Through technical training, apprenticeship development days and mentoring, you’ll built your skills working on meaningful projects. You’ll collaborate with other apprentices across the business, present your achievements and deliver an Apprentice Excellence Project by proposing a change to a business process. You’ll be aligned to a role in the business from day one, giving you clear focus for your development throughout the programme and a permanent role to move into upon successful completion of your apprenticeship.

As an Apprentice, you will be working towards the achievement of an apprenticeship standard, with defined knowledge, skills and behaviour criteria that will be developed throughout your programme with us and your training provider.

This role will align to the LEVEL 6, Machine Learning Engineer apprenticeship standard.

The anticipated delivery model is virtual day release, with an estimated apprenticeship duration of 24 months. The expected provider for this programme is QA.

The remit of the Digitalisation and Innovation Function is to act as the centre of excellence for Digital Transformation and Innovation for the business, working across all Siemens Rail Infrastructure business units and collaborating across the other Siemens Mobility businesses.

Digital transformation is the integration of digital technology across all areas of a business, fundamentally changing how we will operate and deliver value to customers.

Working as part of the Digitalisation team, we are a flexible team with a broad set of skills and diverse specialist knowledge. You will work closely with our digital technology teams and domain experts to play a pivotal role in enhancing the efficiency of our project delivery lifecycle. By championing modular architectures, automation, and reusable digital frameworks, you will ensure our innovations move from concept to deployment with greater speed and precision.

• Drive the business data strategy and develop innovative solutions to support our customers challenges
• Provide an infrastructure through which innovative thinking can spread across the business to aid in the development of new customer solutions

What you’ll need to succeed:

• You will have achieved or be on track to achieve two A-levels in one or more similar subjects plus B in A-Level maths and hold at least 5 GCSE's grade 4 or above including maths and English language
• Logical thinking, willing to self-learn and research, and take a creative approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently, safely and responsibly; take ownership of challenges and ideas and are looking to develop your ability to drive and lead change
• Enjoy collaborating with others to find innovative solutions
