Job description

Accountable to the Director of Marketing and Communications and working with the Brand Design and UX Manager, to deliver and maintain an exciting and effective website for COPC and supporting communications and marketing content. This role focuses on creating compelling, accurate content that enhances the COPC brand, attracts prospective students, supports parents/carers, and ensures consistent messaging across departments while continually optimizing the College website and communications.

Responsibilities
  • Use strong creative skills, copywriting, and a keen eye for detail to generate engaging communications to many audience types, using Campaign Monitor, Mailchimp or a similar electronic direct marketing platform.
  • Use the COPC brand guidelines to inform content, ensure a consistent tone of voice and stay in line with our brand personality.
  • Use website content management (CMS) systems such as Umbraco to update, redesign, and create web pages, ensure consistency and create engaging web copy to suit varying audiences (school leavers, adults, employers) on the COPC website.
  • Use prior knowledge and experience of running digital marketing campaigns to gain great engagement results, review web activity and make suggestions for improvements using programmes such as Hotjar and Google Analytics.
  • Lead the team on promoting events and key themes/campaigns digitally, with suggestions for maximum conversion, engagement, and exposure.
  • Support the Brand and UX Manager to help deliver the aims of the strategic marketing plan.
  • Ensure best practice with accessibility, SEO / keywords and responsiveness when creating web pages and email campaigns and implement UTM tracking where possible.
  • Confidently report web issues / bugs to our Website and Software Developer and make suggestions for change to improve usability.
  • Work closely with social media, events, graphic design and copywriting team members to produce stand out web pages and email campaigns to a brief and assist with key themes/messaging for posters, flyers, banners etc to heighten brand awareness.
  • Deliver a range of concurrent projects, on-time and to budget.
  • Confidently present ideas and key messaging to the wider team to develop brand awareness campaigns and student recruitment campaigns.
  • Have an awareness of wider college activities and processes and form/maintain key working relationships, which can help to inform keep warm email campaigns and news articles.
  • Review and re-write course leaflet submissions in conjunction with the Senior PR and Copywriter to accurately promote our course offerings to appear in prospectuses and on the website.
  • Assist with processing large amounts of data, information, and photographs to collate into external documentation such as prospectuses and course guides.
  • Liaise with external organisations to request work such as photographers and videographers and accurately explain a brief.
  • Use SharePoint to write and publish news articles and communicate with the wider team.
  • Evidence of commitment to professional development.
Qualifications
  • Level 4 or above, CIM qualification.
