  • Value and respect: We put diversity and inclusion at the heart of all we do.

We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.

The Communications Team is at the heart of Council work, helping to promote decisions, publicise events and keep everyone informed and up to date. The team works closely with councillors and senior managers to ensure all areas of the Council's work get the publicity they need to help residents in their daily lives - from bin collections to staging the Godiva Festival and roadworks to fostering and adoption. It works with local and national media organisations and across a broad range of communications tools to promote the Council's work, including social media, digital and photography, as well as being responsible for areas such as internal marketing and graphic design.

As a Digital Content and PR Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and sharing Coventry City Council's story. Your expertise will help deliver innovative content that supports strategic communication campaigns, ensuring they resonate with and reflect the diverse communities we serve. This role is embedded in an experienced Communications Team, where you will be supported to build strong relationships with media, colleagues, and the community. Your contributions will enhance the Council's public image and showcase how the Council touches people's lives. And at the heart of your delivery will be our One Coventry values, our commitment to working together for the best possible outcome for our residents. This is a varied and interesting role where you can contribute to organising events, coordinating VIP visits, and offering supportive advice on messaging and brand consistency. If you're passionate about public relations, digital storytelling, and working in a fast‑paced and energetic team, we'd love to hear from you.

Are you a creative communicator who enjoys developing engaging and impactful content? We'd love to hear from you.

You will have experience in communications, PR, or marketing ideally within the public sector and a solid understanding of media relations, campaign planning, and audience engagement. Confidence with video and audio tools like podcasting, or a willingness to learn, is also key.
