Principal Digital Communications Advisor
The Role

Are you a creative communicator who knows how to make digital platforms sing? Do you enjoy crafting content that connects with communities and builds trust? If so, we’d love to welcome you to our team.

As Digital Communications Lead, you’ll be at the heart of how the OPCC engages with the public online. You’ll manage our website, social media channels, and digital campaigns — making sure everything we publish is timely, accurate, and engaging. You’ll help shape how we communicate the Commissioner’s priorities and respond to the needs of Hertfordshire’s communities.

This role is about more than just posting updates. It’s about telling stories that matter, responding to real‑time issues, and making sure our digital presence reflects the values and ambitions of the OPCC. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the OPCC and Constabulary, bringing consistency, creativity, and clarity to everything we do online.

You will be expected to act with a high degree of integrity and display motivation, commitment and perseverance in all tasks. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have a minimum of two years’ experience working in digital communications or public engagement with a strong grasp of social media platforms, CMS systems and digital analytics tools. Skills in photography, video editing or graphic design and excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
