Job Overview
The role is based in London (Leytonstone site) and requires face‑to‑face delivery. The successful candidate will work as a key member of the Maximus Training team, collaborating with internal operational colleagues, external stakeholders such as Local Authorities, WYCA, DWP/JCP, NCS, and other Maximus divisions.
Responsibilities
- Administer pre‑course screeners, initial and diagnostics assessments for each learner and develop/maintain tailored ILPs with SMART targets.
- Plan and deliver accredited and non‑accredited training programmes to 19+ adults in subjects such as English, Maths, Digital, Customer Service, Business Administration, Hospitality, Warehousing & Logistics, and Health and Social Care.
- Design and implement lesson plans that are innovative, differentiated and aligned to learners’ personal learning goals and chosen employment sector.
- Mentor, assess, motivate and support learners, fostering personal and social skills for work and independence.
- Develop bespoke resources and materials to meet learner and employer needs.
- Embed Maths, English, Digital, Soft Skills and PDBA themes (including prevent/safeguarding) into delivery.
- Provide additional support to learners with SEND, ESOL and other learning needs.
- Conduct regular reviews with learners to monitor engagement and progression and address emerging needs.
- Maintain accurate learner records (hard copy and electronic) and ensure evidence is available for audit and quality purposes.
- Use MIS (incl. ILR) to track learner progress against the ILP and KPIs, identify shortfalls and implement remedial action plans.
- Monitor attendance, ensure completion of all assessment components and enable learners to meet qualification criteria.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of key documents, policies and procedures (e.g. self‑assessment reports, quality improvement plans).
- Implement improvements from performance reviews and internal quality assurance processes, participate in standardisation and team meetings.
- Maintain professional knowledge through formal training, networking and continuous professional development activities.
- Encourage and respond to learner and stakeholder feedback, contributing to the cycle of quality improvement.
- Follow Maximus policies and statutory responsibilities (Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Prevent, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion).
Qualifications
- Minimum Level 3 teaching qualification (PTTLS or equivalent).
- Subject‑specific qualifications and/or occupational knowledge to support delivery of accredited/non‑accredited programmes to 19+ adults.
- Experience with multi‑disciplinary training (English, Maths, Digital, Customer Service, Business Administration, Hospitality, Warehousing & Logistics, Health and Social Care) is prioritised.
- Desirable: CTTLS, Level 3 Award Assessing Vocationally Related Achievement, Level 4 Award in the Quality Assurance of Assessment Process and Practice.
- Experience using online learning platforms and digital portfolios.
- Proven experience in adult or work‑based learning, teaching, assessment and delivering funded employability programmes.
- IT literacy in Microsoft Office 365, Teams and other modern digital technologies.
- Track record in managing and supporting learners and colleagues face‑to‑face and remotely.
- Ability to plan and organise caseload and diary independently.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to forge strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience delivering services to meet contractual and quality standards, exceeding retention and achievement targets.
- Strong presentation, team‑working and organisational skills.
- Reliable and capable of fulfilling the employment contract, with a good sickness record.
- Commitment to quality and customer service.
Work Flexibility & Location
The role is based out of Leytonstone, with delivery at other sites and on client premises. Flexibility is required; occasional evening and weekend hours may be expected.
