Sharp Consultancy is delighted to be working exclusively with a progressive Accountancy Firm in Sheffield to appoint a Digital Accounting Manager into a newly created position. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading and developing a talented team of emerging professionals.

The role is ideal for ACA / ACCA qualified, practice-trained accountants seeking to join a modern, agile firm with a strong focus on delivering added value and empowering clients through digital solutions, particularly Xero. Following its first acquisition, the firm now manages a portfolio of legacy clients—primarily sole traders—who require support in transitioning to cloud-based systems.

This position blends hands‑on client management with strategic influence, making it perfect for individuals who want to move beyond compliance and play a key role in shaping client success and firm growth. We are looking for professionals with a tech‑driven mindset, proven experience in producing management accounts, and strong proficiency in Xero.

Duties to include:

• End to end portfolio management of a varied client portfolio largely consisting of sole traders

• Drive digital transformation for clients by implementing and optimising cloud‑based accounting solutions, primarily Xero

• Lead and develop a small team of juniors, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management

• Support transitioning from traditional systems to modern digital platforms

• Produce and review management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery

• Collaborate with senior leadership to shape the firm’s digital strategy and contribute to business growth initiatives.

• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal quality controls

• Identify opportunities for client upskilling and training on digital tools and best practices

Person Specification:

• ACA / ACCA qualified

• Experience of working within Accountancy Practice

• Experience of using Xero
