Role Overview

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic dietitian to join our large department within the inpatient ward team. The role is suited to a newly qualified Band 5 dietitian and involves a mixed caseload of medical and complex care wards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a dietetic service to specified wards such as complex medical and aged‑care of the elderly.
  • Provide cover during annual leave and unplanned leave to a variety of clinical areas.
  • Deliver education and training on nutrition‑related topics to health professionals, students and patients.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Trust Nutrition and Hydration Strategy.
  • Provide and develop an effective evidence‑based general dietetic service to designated wards.
  • Provide expert advice to patients, carers and clinicians about the most effective nutritional treatment.
  • Ensure special diets and artificial nutrition meet or exceed all nutrient requirements despite significant restrictions.
  • Liaise with the health‑care team in hospital and community to support implementation of nutritional prescription/management.
Working Hours & Terms
  • Full Time Equivalent (WTE) 1.0 (37.5 hours).

Qualifications & Experience

Seeking a newly qualified Band 5 dietitian who will manage a mixed caseload of medical and complex care wards and train student dietitians from Plymouth and Birmingham City Universities.
