Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust in Chelmsford is seeking a Band 5 Dietitian to join our acute clinical dietetic team. You will work alongside other Band 5s and dietetic assistants, managing a varied caseload and rotating across specialist areas.

We offer a supportive preceptorship programme for newly qualified Dietitians, with mentorship from senior colleagues and excellent opportunities for professional development within a large, trusted hospital network.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with HCPC or applying for registration.
• Member of the British Dietetic Association.
• Experience in acute hospital settings and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide dietary management expertise for a diverse patient caseload.
• Manage clinical caseload across in-patients and out-patient clinics.
• Support junior staff with supervision and preceptorship where appropriate.

Job overview

We have an exciting opportunity for a band 5 Dietitian to join our friendly acute clinical dietetic team.

You will join an enthusiastic and motivated dietetic team and will work closely with the other band 5 dietitians and dietetic assistants, while receiving excellent support from our senior Dietetic team.

The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload across multiple acute hospital wards with opportunities to rotate across multiple specialist areas.

This post would suit either a band 5 Dietitian looking to develop specialist skills or a newly qualified dietitian seeking support from a highly skilled and experienced team .

Main duties of the job

To act as a source of expertise in the dietary management and treatment of a diverse range of conditions for patients, healthcare professionals, and the general public and the media.

To manage a clinical caseload encompassing but not exclusively in a range of in-patients from medical, surgical, cardiothoracic, orthopaedic and care of the elderly wards, and out-patient clinics in both hospital and community settings.
