Job summary

Lakefield Neurological Centre, part of Elysium Healthcare Limited, invites applications for a Dietetic Assistant to support a Registered Dietitian in clinical care and monitoring. You will help with therapeutic interventions, collect nutritional data, and review young people's dietary needs, participating in resource development and progress reporting.

The role emphasises teamwork and CPD with access to training opportunities to advance your career within a neuro-rehabilitation environment.

Qualifications

• CAMHS or eating disorder service experience.
• NCFE CACHE Level 2/3 healthcare support qualifications.
• Associate member of the British Dietetic Association is preferred.
• Basic understanding of nutrition and dietetics related to eating disorders.
• Understanding needs of people with mental health problems or other disabilities.
• Theoretical knowledge of Eating Disorders.

Job description

Introduction

Are you a Dietetic Graduate or Dietetic Assistant looking to give your career the best start? If so, this might be for you. You will work under the supervision of the Registered Dietitian, which will see you take responsibility for supporting the day-to-day duties, including providing support for therapeutic interventions, collecting and monitoring baseline nutritional data and reviewing the young persons' nutritional needs.
As a Dietetic Assistant, you will participate in the preparation and updating of information and resources for individuals and groups, which will see you review young peoples compliance with nutritional advice, dietary preference and intake and provide reports on their progression.
You will be a part of an environment where there is a strong emphasis on teamwork and CPD, where you will have continuous access to a range of training opportunities to move your career forward.

Other responsibilities

• Assist and participate in the planning and facilitation of a range of training sessions and group work

• Ensure appropriate documentation is in place for a safe discharge, including appropriate follow-up

To be successful in this role, you'll need

• Experience of working within a CAMHS and/or eating disorder service
• The NCFE CACHE level 2 Certificate in Healthcare Support Services OR The NCFE CACHE level 3 Diploma in Healthcare Support
• Associate member of the British Dietetic Association
• Demonstrate basic understanding of nutrition and dietetics as it relates to eating disorders
• An understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems or other disabilities
• Theoretical knowledge of Eating Disorders

Lakefield's Neurological Centre, Lambourne Road, Chigwell, IG7 6HH
Lakefields Neurological Centre will be a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise their functional ability and improve their quality of life. The Centre specialises in neuro-rehabilitation, tracheostomy and ventilator care.
Bedrooms are adapted to individual requirements, fitted with high dependency equipment including ceiling track hoists, wall mounted suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy facilities, spacious lounge areas and wheelchair access to beautiful gardens.
