Job summary

Innova Solutions in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mechanical Validation Engineer to support a wide range of diesel engine projects within a small multi skilled team. You will contribute to validation planning, testing, data analysis and reporting to ensure engine performance and reliability.

The role requires at least 3 years of hands-on experience in product validation, strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in product validation, verification, testing, or development engineering.
  • Experience creating validation plans, test procedures, and technical reports.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with root cause analysis methodologies (8D, DMAIC/DEMDI/6σ).
  • Experience interpreting and analysing test data.
  • Understanding of engineering validation and verification processes.
  • Experience validating product performance against objectives.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • High standard of written technical reporting.
  • Knowledge of diesel engine systems (cooling, lubrication, air).
  • Familiarity with DFMEA, DVP&R, Plato, E1NS, Farevo, or similar tools.
  • Experience with high-speed data acquisition and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of CAN-based data acquisition tools (CANape).
  • Experience conducting durability, performance, emissions, vibration testing.

Responsibilities

  • Diesel Engine Performance evaluation and understanding of engine health
  • Mechanical verification and validation of engine components and systems
  • Defining and managing component validation plans
  • Generation of test cycles, instrumentation requirements, boundary conditions and acceptance criteria
  • Coordination of day-to-day engineering activity and management of test and analysis activity
  • Failure analysis and defect resolution using industry-standard methods
  • Technical reporting
  • Conducting all work operating procedures and local methods to meet quality standards
  • Support to the design function through FMEA attendance
  • Collaboration with all platform teams based at the Stafford facility
  • Occasional overseas travel may be necessary as required by business needs
