Job summary

B. Braun Melsungen AG in Newport is seeking a motivated Clerical Assistant on a fixed-term maternity cover basis. The role supports the Newport Dialysis Unit with administrative duties, patient data entry and liaison across departments to ensure smooth operations.

Working 37.5 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, onsite at Newport Dialysis Unit, with a focus on accurate data handling and professional communication within a clinical team.

Qualifications

• Previous clerical or administrative experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confident using IT systems (Word and Excel).
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Compassionate and patient-focused attitude.

Responsibilities

• Act as a receptionist, handling first-line telephone enquiries.
• Input data onto systems (e.g., patient activity, clinical results).
• Liaise with transport and other departments within and outside the hospital.
• Gather information and prepare standard reports (blood results, inpatient days).
• Assist the dialysis unit manager with correspondence.
