Job summary

A technology solutions provider in Cambridge seeks a DevOps Infrastructure Systems Administrator for an initial 6-month contract. You will manage IT systems, oversee network management, server configurations, and ensure security compliance. Ideal candidates should have Cisco expertise and experience with firewalls and server management. This is a hybrid role requiring onsite presence three days a week.

Qualifications

• Strong preference for Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP) or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience with Palo Alto and Checkpoint (Secui is desirable).
• Comfortable managing Dell, Intel, AMD servers, and OS configurations.
• Proficient in TCP/IP networking, addressing, subnetting, and routing.
• Solid understanding of firewall configurations, secure interconnects, and VPNs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Cisco switches, core switching, VLANs, and interconnects.
• Manage wireless systems and configure firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Secui).
• Handle Dell, Intel, and AMD servers, with hands-on experience in various OS.
• Maintain VMware ESXi for virtualization.
• Implement and manage security protocols to ensure data integrity.
• Diagnose, resolve issues, and optimize system configurations for peak performance.

Description

We’re looking for a talented DevOps Infrastructure Systems Administrator to join our dynamic team in Cambridge on an inside IR35 contract on an initial 6 month contract with the view to extend further. This is a hybrid role and you will be required to be onsite for 3 days each week.

As a key player within our DevOps Infra team, you’ll work on-premise, managing and optimising our IT systems to support critical business operations. From Cisco networking solutions to server management and security, your expertise will ensure our infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Management: Oversee Cisco switches, core switching, VLANs, and interconnects.
• Manage wireless systems and configure firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, and Secui).
• Server Management: Handle Dell, Intel, and AMD servers, with hands-on experience in Windows (AD, Exchange) and Linux (RHEL, Rocky, Ubuntu).
• Maintain VMware ESXi for virtualisation.
• Security and Compliance: Implement and manage security protocols to ensure data integrity and regulatory compliance.
• Performance Optimisation: Diagnose, resolve issues, and optimise system configurations for peak performance.
