Job summary

RedRock Resourcing is seeking a Platform/DevOps Engineer in Cardiff with expertise in Azure and CI/CD automation. The role involves designing and delivering environment automation across dev/test lifecycles, building CI/CD pipelines, and supporting hybrid cloud/on-premise delivery.

The successful candidate will work across Azure deployments, IaC, and observability, mentoring teams and promoting DevOps best practices. Cardiff site presence is required two days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD automation across hybrid environments.
• Experience with containerisation (Docker) and microservices delivery.
• Familiarity with cloud and on-premise infrastructure models.
• Working knowledge of secure SDLC practices and non-functional testing (resilience, availability, performance, security).
• Experience with monitoring/logging/observability tools (Datadog, App Insights).
• Knowledge of Agile principles and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Designing and delivering DevOps and environment automation solutions across development and test lifecycles.
• Building and evolving CI/CD pipelines using Azure, including deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Supporting both cloud and on-premise delivery, reducing friction for teams via reusable platform components.
• Enabling non-functional testing (security, performance) through platform capabilities and automation.
• Promoting DevOps best practices and mentoring teams in platform capabilities, security, and delivery metrics.

2 days a week in Cardiff

A leading organisation in central Cardiff requires a Platform / DevOps Engineer to join its growing delivery team. Suitable candidates will have the following:

• A strong knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD automation across hybrid environments.
• Experience of technologies such as Git, PowerShell/Bash, and infrastructure automation (e. g. Terraform, Bicep).
• Experience with containerisation (e. g. Docker) and microservices-based delivery.
• Familiarity with both cloud and on-premise infrastructure models.
• Working knowledge of secure SDLC practices and non-functional testing requirements (e. g. resilience, availability, performance, security).
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tooling (e. g. Datadog, App Insights).
• Knowledge of Agile principles and Dev Ops practices.

The successfu candidate will be comfortable performing the following:

• Designing and delivering DevOps and environment automation solutions across development and test lifecycles.
• Building and evolving CI/CD pipelines using Azure, including deployment automation and infrastructure-as-code.
• Supporting both cloud and on-premise delivery, reducing friction for teams through reusable platform components.
