Job summary

Hunter Bond is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join their expanding FinTech team in London. The role offers a hybrid work pattern with four days in the office and one day from home, focusing on automation-first CI/CD, Kubernetes, Docker, and robust observability tooling.

You will collaborate across teams to deliver automated deployments, perform root-cause analysis on Linux systems, and contribute to a scalable, secure software delivery process.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in a DevOps role.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD tooling (Bamboo, GitLab, Travis).
• Solid understanding of SDLC and Agile practices.
• Desirable: Experience with Xcode / Swift.

Responsibilities

• Design automated CI/CD pipelines and tooling.
• Collaborate across teams on project delivery.

The role :

My client, an expanding and established FinTech, are seeking a DevOps Engineer to join their team in London.

This role requires 4 days in the office per week, with 1 day working from home.

Responsibilities:

• Automation first mindset, designing automated solutions for CI/CD pipelines
• Working across various teams to work collaboratively during projects
• Ops work including route cause analysis and technical Linux deep dives
• Designing and implementing deployments tools using Helm, Ansible or similar
• Working on large containerised environments - Kubernetes and Docker
• Monitoring and Observability utilising tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Mimir, Loki, Tempo etc.
• Scripting in a variety of languages including Python, Java, Groovy, React, Swift etc.

Experience required

• 3-5 years + experience working in a varied DevOps position
• Competent scripting in Python and Bash
• Good knowledge of container platforms - Kubernetes, Docker, Podman
• Strong knowledge of CI/CD tooling such as Bamboo, GitLab, Travis etc.
• Good understanding of software delivery practices such as Git branching and Configuration Management
• Experience working with Kafka is highly desirable
• Knowledge of software delivery practices
• Good overall understanding of the SDLC and Agile
• Strong knowledge of build tools such as Maven / Gradle
• Any experience with Xcode / Swift / associated iOS technologies is highly desirable
