Person specification

What you’ll be working on:

  • Supporting and evolving the IC AWS Digital PaaS Platform (DigiPaaS), our primary cloud platform.
  • Managing multiple Azure tenants and subscriptions alongside our AWS estate.
  • Designing, developing, and deploying cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth, automated delivery of infrastructure and application code.
  • Collaborating closely with Application Developers to integrate and deploy application code, primarily using GitHub Actions.
  • Providing incident reporting and continuous support to achieve 100% uptime SLA (service level agreement).
  • Researching and suggesting continuous improvements around IT infrastructure and security.
  • Upgrading systems by conferring with vendors and service providers; developing, testing, evaluating, and installing new software and enhancements.

This is a chance to shape the future of IC’s cloud strategy. You’ll be part of a team that values automation, scalability, and continuous improvement, with plenty of room to grow and innovate.

The above responsibilities are not exhaustive, and the post holders may be required to undertake some additional tasks not listed above, within the remit of their grade, to support the team.

  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and workflows, especially GitHub Actions.
  • A collaborative mindset and eagerness to work in a cross‑functional team.
  • Networking: Knowledge of VPCs, Cloud Load Balancing, and Cloud NAT.
It is unusual that all candidates will meet all the desirable criteria.
