Job summary

A UK government organization is looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer to support production systems and work with Agile development teams. This role involves coaching Juniors and contributing to technical improvements while maintaining the infrastructure in a fast-paced DevOps environment. Ideal candidates should have a strong background in IT and experience with Linux, container workloads, and cloud applications, specifically AWS. The position is full-time with a requirement of at least 32 hours a week and may involve travel.

Qualifications

• Hold a qualification in Information Technology or a related area.
• Experience supporting Linux operating systems and containers.
• Familiar with DevOps practices including Continuous Integration.

Responsibilities

• Support production systems and deliver new services using DevOps processes.
• Coach and support Junior DevOps Engineers.
• Contribute to technical consolidation and improvement activities.

Skills

Experience supporting Linux operating systems

Containers and containerized workloads

Programming languages: Ruby, Java, Python, Javascript or Go

Knowledge of DevOps practices

Version control (Git and GitLab CI)

Education

Qualification in Information Technology or related area (Degree Level or equivalent)
