Pharo Management in London is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our technology team. You will build and maintain the infrastructure, deployment pipelines, and monitoring that our trading, research, and operations systems rely on.

This hands-on role offers ownership and visible impact on how the business runs. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in DevOps or related roles, experience with Git, CI/CD, containers, Terraform, and major cloud platforms, and a drive for reliability and automation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a DevOps, platform, infrastructure, or software engineering role.
• Experience with Git and code review workflows.
• Proficiency with CI/CD tooling, especially GitHub Actions.
• Exposure to containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Experience with a major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, load balancing).
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to explain technical issues to non-technical teams.
• Python, PowerShell, or Bash scripting ability.

Responsibilities

• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for internal applications.
• Support day-to-day requests from development teams and troubleshoot issues.
• Extend cloud and on-premise infrastructure via infrastructure‑as‑code.
• Operate monitoring, alerting, and logging to preempt issues and assist incident resolution.
• Write scripts/tools to automate repetitive operational tasks.
• Contribute to improving software delivery practices across the team.
• Participate in on-call rotation for critical services.
