Job summary

CGI in the United Kingdom is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join the Secure Innovation & Advisory team within the Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit. You will design, implement and operate secure cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines for government clients.

Work from either our office or on customer sites with some travel; UK national security clearance (SC) is required or willingness to obtain. You will apply automation, IaC, containers and monitoring to deliver mission-critical IT

Qualifications

• Design, implement and maintain secure cloud environments (development through to production) using AWS or Azure.
• Automation skills (IaC) to provision and manage environments with Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM.
• Linux and Windows OS experience, including scripting (PowerShell and Bash).
• Strong knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube).
• Experience with log collection and monitoring (ELK Stack or Splunk).

CGI are currently looking for DevOps Engineers of all levels to come and join our Secure Innovation & Advisory team which is part of CGI’s Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit. The area is focused primarily on the delivery of contemporary and innovative technical solutions for the government agencies most challenging problems. Our teams work alongside our clients to help them understand how to exploit technologies to maintain competitive advantage. Your future duties and responsibilities

Working from either our office or on customer site, we help our clients with some of their most complex IT challenges. Our DevOps Engineers have the opportunity to construct some of the most unique and exciting software solutions within the industry. You can expect be involved in all stages of the project and system life-cycles.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role

• Design, implement and maintain operations of secure cloud environments (development through to production ) using either AWS or Microsoft Azure
• Automation skills (e.g. Infrastructure as Code) in order to provision and manage environments using technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation or ARM
• Linux and Windows OS experience, including scripting (e.g. Powershell and Bash).
• Strong knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Familiar with Agile approach and software engineering practices including Continuous Integration and Delivery
• Experience in setting up and configuring CI / CD pipelines and tools (e.g. Jenkins, Bitbucket, SonarQube)
• Experience in log collection technologies and monitoring platforms (e.g. ELK Stack or Splunk)
• Looks to build quality into the solution at every step with a focus for continually improving
• Working as part of an agile delivery team to realise business value for our customers

Security Clearance: Must be UK national – and either hold, or willing to gain higher level Security Cleared (SC).

Working pattern: due to the secure nature of the work we are operating with a hybrid working policy. We would expect our members to be in their local office as and when required. Some travel to other CGI or client sites might be required (all travel away from your base office is expensed)
