Job Title : DevOps Engineer

Reporting to : DevOps and Automation Manager

Position Type : Permanent Mon-Fri 9-5

Location : London 3 days a week onsite

Job Purpose

The role of DevOps Engineer is to play a significant part in the software delivery process for all TMHCC International applications. The DevOps Engineer will support specific activities to improve development processes and the optimization of releases procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Install deploy and Applications and other Web Applications.
• Use Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio to manage databases permissions backups and deploying SQL scripts.
• Deploy changes across environments following a structured approach e.g. via DEV TEST and then to PRD depending on sign-off and approval as per the Release Notes provided.
• Setup and manage servers via virtualization software such as VMWare including tuning and performance monitoring.
• Install and configure bespoke off-the-shelf applications including but not limited to Microsoft BizTalk and Dynamic CRM Pega.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures / documentation for deployments and troubleshooting.
• Communicate with and manage stakeholder expectations in a professional manner.
• Contribute to and maintain environment standards. Ownership of all environment documentation ensuring change control is applied and all versions are current. Identification of technical documentation gaps the remediation of such gaps.
• Ensure adherence to existing Change Management Policy.
• Perform daily system monitoring verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware server resources systems and key processes reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Use Windows Active Directory to administer user permissions managing / creating service accounts and group membership.
• Assist in disaster recovery planning and testing for TMHCC International applications.
• Assist with out of hours deployments where required.
• Identify automation opportunities with regular frequent maintenance activities such as deployments and refreshes.
• Work closely with other Product Engineering QE Platform and Support engineers to develop efficient and effective CI / CD pipelines and processes.
• Develop policies standards guidelines governance and related guidance for both CI / CD operations and for Software Engineers including relevant training.
• Create and maintain fully automated CI build processes for multiple environments used by multiple applications and components.
• Promote a culture of collaboration innovation and transparency across the organisation.
• Attend the monthly DevOps Community of Practice forum.

• Meet SLAs for Deployment activities.
• Identify and implement automation wherever possible and guiding engineering teams to self-serve where appropriate.
• Develop maintain and improve CI / CD processes across the estate.
