Job summary

Anson McCade Pty is seeking a DevOps Consultant with strong AWS experience to join a growing engineering team delivering secure cloud-based platforms for government and national infrastructure projects.

You will design, build and support AWS environments, develop secure CI/CD pipelines and manage containerised workloads with Docker and Kubernetes in fast-moving delivery teams.

Qualifications

• Solid commercial experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Cloud Engineering with AWS as the main focus.
• Experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, RDS.
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Linux system administration and scripting: Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Monitoring, logging and alerting tools.
• Git, code review and software engineering best practice.
• Security-focused cloud design and vulnerability remediation.
• Azure exposure or multi-cloud support experience would be a bonus

We’re looking for a DevOps Consultant with strong AWS experience to join a growing engineering team delivering secure, cloud-based platforms across complex government and critical national infrastructure programmes.

You’ll work closely with software engineers, architects and delivery teams to build, automate and support reliable cloud environments. This is a hands‑on role, suited to someone who enjoys solving problems, improving ways of working and helping teams get quality software into production faster and more safely.

The role

You’ll be involved in:

• Designing, building and supporting AWS cloud environments.
• Developing and improving CI/CD pipelines for secure, repeatable software delivery.

• Working directly with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide practical technical advice.

What we’re looking for

You’ll need solid commercial experience working in DevOps, Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering or a similar role, with AWS as your main technical focus.

Experience with the following would be useful:

• AWS services including EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch and RDS.
• Infrastructure as Code, ideally Terraform or CloudFormation.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• Linux systems administration and scripting using Bash, Python or PowerShell.
• Monitoring, logging and alerting tools.
• Git, code review and software engineering best practice.
• Security‑focused cloud design, access management and vulnerability remediation.
• Azure exposure or experience supporting hybrid/multi‑cloud environments.

You don’t need to be an Azure specialist, but any experience with Azure DevOps, Azure landing zones, ARM/Bicep or Azure cloud services would be a bonus.

This would suit someone who is technically strong, practical and comfortable working in fast‑moving delivery teams. You’ll need to be able to communicate clearly with both engineers and non‑technical stakeholders, while keeping a focus on secure, scalable and maintainable solutions.

Please note: Successful applicants will need to be eligible for BPSS and DV security clearance. This will typically require 10 years’ continuous UK address history, no significant periods spent overseas and British nationality eligibility at the point of application. Some travel to client sites may be required.
