Job summary

HID Global in Cardiff, UK is seeking an Associate Manager DevOps to drive CI/CD implementation and maintenance. You will lead the DevOps framework, bridging DevTest and Development teams to accelerate release cycles and improve delivery.

You will establish scalable CI/CD environments and mentor staff across multiple disciplines. The role emphasizes leadership, architecture, and hands‑on tooling across Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, Docker, and AWS DevOps Services within a global security software

Qualifications

  • Engineering degree or equivalent, or suitable experience.
  • +7 years of related industry experience.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure management and monitoring tools.
  • Knowledge of developer operations platform tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab, Gradle, Snyk, SonarQube, DefectDojo, Ansible, Yocto‑Cooker, Ant, Maven, NPM, Nexus, Docker, Terraform, AWS DevOps Services.
  • Familiarity with documentation standards and practices with a developer operations focus.
  • Strong presenting and communication skills, good judgment, analytical ability.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a wide range of testing techniques to support a scalable and automated CI/CD environment.
  • Monitor and triage CI/CD pipeline test failures.
  • Design, build, and document new CI/CD infrastructure for new features.
  • Identify and liaise with teams to uncover test gaps.
  • Communicate test results to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Project manage and provide technical leadership to achieve team results.
  • Contribute to project and product planning discussions.
  • Understand how the product under test operates within a wider system.
  • Coordinate with the Program team prior to feature development to clarify required test requirements.
  • Plan and scope new functionality test requirements.
  • Make decisions regarding the Test Environment.
  • Coach and mentor team members at a technical level.
  • Raise defects with the business and help prioritize them based on severity.
  • Research, plan, and train others within the team.
  • Deliver technical reports and actively contribute to customer escalations.
  • Champion TDD methodology and lead stakeholders in its implementation.

  • Knowledge of various test/development methodologies such as TDD, BDD, Acceptance Testing, and Unit Testing.
