Job summary

Core Highways, a leading provider of temporary traffic management and events signage, is recruiting Trainee Traffic Management Operatives for the South Devon depot at Heathfields (Newton Abbot). The role involves setting up traffic management sites, complying with Health and Safety regulations, and delivering safe traffic management solutions for clients.

The job requires physical activity and flexibility to work day, night or weekend shifts.

• Set up traffic management sites in line with National Highways Sector Schemes 12AB and 12C.
• Complete risk assessments.
• Load vehicles safely with the Traffic Management required.
• Complete daily vehicle checks.
• Report any near misses to Depot Supervisor or Manager.
• Assist with maintaining depot stock levels by ensuring all equipment is placed in the designated area.

We currently have vacancies for Trainee Traffic Management Operatives at our South Devon depot based in Heathfields (Newton Abbot).

The Role:

You will be responsible for the safe delivery of all Traffic Management in line with company policies and procedures.

The purpose of your role will be to deliver Traffic Management solutions for our clients in line with Health and Safety regulations.

• Set up traffic management sites in line with National Highways Sector Schemes 12AB and 12C


• Complete risk assessments


• Load vehicles safely with the Traffic Management required


• Complete daily vehicle checks


• Report any near misses to either your Depot Supervisor or Manager.


• Assist with maintaining depot stock levels by ensuring all equipment is placed in the designated area, specifically batteries for recharging

Due to the nature of the Traffic Management business, the role requires physical activity, so the ability to perform in this aspect is essential. In addition, with the reactive nature of the business, the role requires flexibility and adaptability regarding working hours which may consist of days, nights, and weekends.
