Job summary

WSP is seeking a Development Planner in Leeds to join our integrated Development team, working on commercial, retail, residential and Local Development Framework projects, developing transport strategies and supporting expert witness evidence.

You will prepare transport assessments, travel plans, access and parking strategies, and contribute to junction capacity modelling using Junctions 10 and Linsig, while communicating with clients and project teams across the UK.

Qualifications

• Experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport and active travel provision, and knowledge of NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets.

Required Skills and Experience

• Experience with Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, access strategy work, parking strategies, sustainable transport and active travel provision, and knowledge of NPPF, DfT Transport Assessment guidelines, Manual for Streets.
• Preparation of traffic flow information for Transport Assessment and/or Environmental Statement.
• Proficiency in junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig, including understanding inputs, outputs and scenario testing.
• Capability in conceptual junction design (priority, roundabout, signals).
• Strong communication skills and confidence in speaking with clients, project teams, co‑professionals and stakeholders.
• Ability to share knowledge with others in technical expertise areas.
• Confidence with day‑to‑day software packages such as Excel and Word.
