A local government authority in Dundee is seeking a part-time administrative support officer. This hybrid role involves assisting the Planning Team with technical and administrative tasks related to planning applications. The ideal candidate will have 3 National 5s (including English and Maths), prior experience in administrative roles, and excellent IT skills. Strong attention to detail, communication abilities, and a commitment to customer care are essential for this position.
Working in a hybrid style, based at home and in Dundee House, you will work part time, 18.5 hours per week.

You will have 3 National 5s, including English & Maths related subject and experience of working in an administrative role.
You will assist in the provision of an efficient administrative and technical support service to the Planning Team in the City Development Department. The functions include consultations and administration of applications for consent to develop under the Town & Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997 (as amended) and related legislation and other general matters arising from the Authority's Statutory Planning functions.
You will also assist with a quality control and management audit of all the Support Team processes and ensure excellent customer service delivery in unison with the Council's Customer Service Team and the Support Team.
You will have a sound understanding and relevant experience of general office administration, along with experience in dealing with members of the public and delivering a high quality of customer care and relevant experience in administrative or technical support roles.
Experience of working with digital systems and databases, handling customer enquiries in a professional setting, excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Teams Word and Excel and other similar IT packages are essential.
You will have understanding of administrative procedures and office systems and awareness of the importance of data accuracy and confidentiality. You will have strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines and have high attention to detail and accuracy.
