Job summary

Place North West is seeking a Lease Consultancy Surveyor / Senior Surveyor / Associate to join their Lease Advisory team in the Northwest. The role focuses on rent reviews, lease renewals and advising on strategic landlord/tenant matters across commercial property sectors, with emphasis on retail.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client’s Lease Advisory team is looking to build upon continued success by further expansion and recruitment of a Lease Consultancy Surveyor / Senior Surveyor / Associate – based out of their Northwest offices.

The team provides specialist Lease Advisory services to property owners and occupiers, and these roles shall focus across all commercial property sectors (particularly retail), whilst offering a varied caseload of quality instructions.

This is a new strategic role, and our clients are looking to appoint a key individual who can help drive the Lease Consultancy team forward, thus offering a genuine career enhancement opportunity with a market leader.

The successful candidate shall ideally be working at Surveyor / Senior / Associate level and be looking to take a step up into their next role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Carry out rent reviews, lease renewals for retained and non-retained clients
• Advise on lease re-gears
• Act as an expert witness to arbitrators, independent experts and court
• Provide strategic advice to clients
• Identify and implement opportunities to add value and optimise performance
• Manage clients to the best of your ability
• Build relationships with internal colleagues within the company
• Securing new clients and new instructions where possible
• Maintain professional development, particularly within the Landlord & Tenant specialism
• Provide advice to other teams in the Commercial Department and wider business as appropriate
• Help to supervise other staff, including graduates and more junior employees

The Ideal Candidate

• MRICS qualified
• Experienced in rent review and lease renewal negotiations
• Previous experience working in a similar role, with team seniority
• Some experienced of making references to third party (essential at Senior / Associate level)
• Thorough knowledge of the Landlord & Tenant Act 1954
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate with a good level of skill and willingness to learn new computer packages
• Confidence to deal directly with ClientsGood attention to details and work in an organised manner
