Job summary

Lloyd Recruitment Services is seeking a Development Manager to oversee a varied portfolio of commercial construction projects from inception to completion, based on the outskirts of Crawley. You will manage multiple projects across greenfield, brownfield and refurbishment within a national estate.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in construction project management, familiarity with JCT contracts, Building Regulations and CDM, and proficiency in AutoCAD, with a willingness to travel

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in construction project management.
• Experience administering JCT contracts.
• Good knowledge of Building Regulations, CDM, and health & safety legislation.
• CSCS card holder; SMSTS desirable (training can be provided).
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including overnight stays.
• Experience working across greenfield, brownfield, or environmentally sensitive sites.
• Proficient in AutoCAD.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Excellent communication and report writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage construction projects from inception through to completion and defects stage.
• Oversee design, specification, and procurement of major works projects.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, and health & safety legislation.
• Act as Contract Administrator (JCT), including site visits and progress monitoring.
• Prepare cost estimates and capital expenditure reports for senior stakeholders.
• Lead project meetings and contribute to design development.
• Support planning applications and building regulations approvals.
• Maintain project documentation and standard specifications.
• Review drawings from concept through to as-built using AutoCAD.
• Monitor project progress using project management systems.
• Provide technical advice on site development and potential new opportunities.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously across a varied estate portfolio.

Lloyd Recruitment Services are pleased to be working with a large organisation seeking an Development Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects across a national estate.

You will oversee multiple projects simultaneously across greenfield, brownfield, refurbishment, including Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Development Manager Key Responsibilities

Development Manager Essential Skills & Experience:

• Confident working with internal teams and external consultants
• Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office and Google Workspace)

Desirable:

• Degree or HND in a relevant discipline
• Membership of CIOB
