Job summary

W Talent is recruiting for a Development / Formulation Chemist in Redditch to develop, optimise and commercialise new formulations from concept to production. You will lead lab trials, scale-up, material evaluation and cross-functional collaboration to drive projects from idea to launch.

The role offers hands-on formulation work within an established technical team, with a salary of £35,000–£40,000 dependent on experience and on-site attendance at the Redditch site.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within a Formulation Chemist, Development Chemist or R&D Chemist role.
• Experience developing and optimisation formulations within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of formulation principles, raw materials and product performance testing.
• Experience taking products from initial concept through to commercialisation.
• Experience supporting manufacturing scale-up and production troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimise and commercialise new product formulations from concept through to production.

• Evaluate and select raw materials, ingredients and additives to support product development.
• Improve existing formulations to enhance performance, quality and cost effectiveness.

• Investigate and resolve formulation, manufacturing and raw material challenges.
• Develop technical documentation, formulation records, specifications and test reports.
• Work closely with Quality, Regulatory, Production, Procurement and Commercial teams.
• Research emerging technologies, ingredients and market trends to support innovation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives across product development processes.

W Talent are delighted to be partnering with an established manufacturing business based in Redditch to recruit a Development / Formulation Chemist. This is an opportunity to join an experienced Technical team, playing a key role in the development and commercialisation of innovative products.

Job Description

Reporting to the NPD Manager, the Development / Formulation Chemist will be responsible for developing, improving and commercialising product formulations from initial concept through to full-scale manufacture.

You will take ownership of laboratory trials, formulation development, raw material evaluation, product optimisation and manufacturing scale-up, working closely with teams across Technical, Quality, Regulatory, Production and Commercial.

This role would suit an experienced Formulation Chemist looking for a hands-on position where they can influence new product development, drive innovation and see projects progress from idea through to launch.

• Experience supporting NPD projects from development through to launch.
