Job summary

2 Sisters Food Group in Carlisle is seeking a passionate Development Chef to support our existing product range and drive continuous improvement across development processes.

You will work closely with the NPD and EPD teams to maintain and enhance our portfolio, with a practical approach to adjusting recipes, reducing salt, cutting costs and preserving taste and quality across products. The role suits someone who loves food and thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a chef role or product development is desirable.
• Passion for food, flavour and understanding what makes a successful product.
• Good organisational skills and ability to manage multiple samples.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn and support colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Support NPD and EPD teams with the preparation, recreation and modification of product samples.
• Review and amend recipes to improve products, reduce costs and optimise ingredients.
• Adjust recipes to reduce salt and find cost-effective alternatives while maintaining quality.
• Prepare, heat and taste-test samples, assessing flavour, appearance, texture and quality.
• Ensure samples meet standards and maintain product integrity.
• Collaborate with customers and internal teams to gather feedback and refine products.
• Support product trials and test recipes before changes are implemented.
• Day-to-day development activities and help the team manage workloads.
