Job summary

A healthcare provider in Slough is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse/Community Nurse to support career development into a band 6 role. The successful candidate will receive in-service training while visiting patients in their homes, providing essential nursing care, including end-of-life support. With focus on work-life balance, this role offers shifts Monday to Friday and some weekend work. 12 MONTH SECONDMENT

Are you an established Registered Nurse/Community Nurse looking to take the next step within your career, with the opportunity to have a strong work life balance? If so, we have the ideal opportunity for you!

We are looking to second a Registered Nurse/Community Nurse to a developmental post, to take you from a band 5 to a 6. We will offer one of a kind in‑service training to ensure you achieve your competencies whilst in this development role as a band 6. The expectation is that we will support you to apply for the SPQ course running in September 2025, if unsuccessful the secondment would be reviewed.

Here at BHFT we are passionate about seeing you succeed and grow within your role as a developing band 6. Our training and support will continue throughout your secondment, during your application process and beyond.

Working hours/days
  • Monday to Friday (Core hours) - 08:30 – 16:30
  • 1 weekend every 4 weeks with days off in the week
  • Late shift – 11:00-19:00
  • Early shift – 07:00 – 15:00

Responsibilities
  • You will visit patients daily in their own homes
  • You will provide high quality nursing care to a range of patients with varying healthcare needs
  • Some of the healthcare you will be expected to provide include: end of life care, wound management, and much more
  • Full time (37.5 hours per week) and part time opportunities available
  • Located at Upton Hospital Slough and covering surrounding areas.
  • You will have protected time to develop your band 6 skill set and management role.
