Job summary

British Transport Police in Birmingham is recruiting Detective Constables at Constable rank to join our Crime Investigation Department. We welcome current or former officers seeking a new challenge or return to policing, valuing experience, empathy, and strong communication.

As CID detectives, you will conduct proactive and reactive investigations on the rail network, liaising with victims and witnesses to secure evidence for prosecution.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be a current or former officer from a Home Office Police Force, Police Scotland, or PSNI.
• Substantive in rank and have completed probation for transferees; re-joiners must apply within 5 years of leaving and have been substantive in rank.

Responsibilities

• Conduct proactive and reactive investigations within CID to secure best possible evidence for prosecution.
• Liaise with victims and witnesses, providing updates and support throughout investigations.
