Job description

As a Despatch Coordinator, your role will be to accurately pick, prepare and support the despatch of equipment orders, working closely with our depot operations and hire desk teams. This is a very integral role, you'll play an essential part in ensuring our customers receive the right equipment, on time, every time.

Responsibilities

• Pick equipment in line with customer orders, ensuring correct quantities and specifications.
• Use scanning systems to record orders and hand completed paperwork to the Depot Coordinator.
• Identify any shortfalls in stock and report to the depot team for internal transfers or replenishment.
• Goods‑out consumables via the Unipart system as required.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of vans and haulage vehicles.
• Check equipment returns into the depot using M42.
• Process internal depot transfers (IDT), ensuring accurate paperwork and safe packing.
• Liaise with Fitters and Drivers to ensure plant is serviced and ready for upcoming hires.
• Check new equipment into stock and pass documentation to the coordinator.
• Wrap, palletise and prepare equipment for dispatch.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organised depot environment.
• Respond to weekly operational reports as required.

Qualifications

• Educated to a reasonable level.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent time‑management skills.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
• Good IT skills and confidence using systems.

Additional (Not Essential)

• A full UK driving licence.
• Ability to hold a PTS (Personal Track Safety) Certificate (training can be provided).
• FLT Licence (training can be provided).
• Knowledge of the rail industry, rail infrastructure or rail plant hire operations.

From time to time, you may be asked to carry out duties within your capability to support the smooth running of the depot.
