Job summary

University Information Services (UIS) at the University of Cambridge seeks a Desktop Service Analyst for the Department of Veterinary Medicine. This full-time, primarily on-site role offers one day per week from home and a 2-year fixed-term contract.

You will provide 1st/2nd line IT support across multi-environment settings. Ideal candidates have a degree or equivalent, experience in Windows and macOS, and strong troubleshooting and customer service skills.

Qualifications

Good education to HND or degree level in a relevant subject, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrable experience in at least two of the following: Windows, macOS/iOS, Intune, Azure/Entra, Microsoft 365, networking.
Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly in client-server environments.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Experience of IT projects up to £10k.
Self-motivated, adaptable and able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

Deliver first, second and sometimes third-line support on-site or remotely.
Diagnose, prioritise and resolve incidents and service requests per procedures.
Primary contact for users via multiple channels (in person, tickets, phone, Teams).
Escalate issues and support service improvements.
Investigate root causes and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
Support UIS services in a complex, varied IT environment.
