Job summary

Witherslack Group is seeking a Designated Safeguarding Lead for Hinckley House School to lead safeguarding across the setting and liaise with agencies, parents and staff to promote wellbeing and protection.

You will join a dedicated leadership team, drive safeguarding standards, collaborate with WG locations, and maintain records while contributing to policy development. A Full UK driving licence and 3+ years in a DSL role are essential.

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years' experience in a Designated Safeguarding Lead role.
  • Comprehensive CPD portfolio related to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-resolution skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safeguarding across the school and liaise with agencies, parents and staff.
  • Ensure child protection and wellbeing processes are followed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support safeguarding strategy.
  • Maintain safeguarding records and contribute to policy compliance.

You will work as part of the leadership team and report directly to the Head Teacher for this crucial role. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with other members of the Witherslack Group team in different locations to enable you to progress and develop your skills and knowledge.

As a Designated Safeguarding Lead you will take responsibility for safeguarding within the school, this means that on a daily basis you will be liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies, parents/carers and staff on matters of wellbeing , child protection and safeguarding and will be a great source of support, advice and expertise in the team.
